"Dinner jackets are worn probably most frequently on cruises and special dinner events. You have the option of going in either white, off-white, or ivory. You may also go with either a polyester dinner jacket or a wool dinner jacket. With polyester dinner jackets, you have the option of going with either a white coat or an ivory coat. However, since 100% wool cannot be fabricated into a pure white, you can only go with an off white / ivory coat if you prefer a wool dinner jacket. Both styles are formally appropriate."
